Dr. Chris Kaufmann, DOM, AP, graduated from the Florida Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in June 1995.
He passed the national NCCAOM boards in New York City in Sept 1994.
While attending school, he also interned with Dr. James T. Reese who specialized in Enviromental Medicine along with Oriental and German Biological Medicine. Kaufmann later joined The Occidental Institute in Vancouver, BC, and started an amazing journey into German Biological and Functional Medicine.
Dr. Kaufmann studied under Dr.Walter Sturm, Dr. Sandy Wood, Dr. Helmut Schimmel, Dr. Daniel Clark, and Dr. Douglas Leber, Dr Thomas Rau , Dr Lee, Dr Zhao, just to name a few.
Trips to Germany with the Occidental Research Group gave him the opportunity to work with the “Who’s Who” in functional medicine. Further studies took him into Enviromental Medicine and how enviromental toxins take a toll on one’s health.
The study of Homotoxicology by Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg became a natural way of thinking, in terms of diagnosis, for Dr. Kaufmann and went hand-in-hand with TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). An “Art of Healing” was taking shape.
Dr. Kaufmann holds certifications in Bio-Energetic testing, also called Electro Acupuncture according to Voll, or EAV. Further courses and certifications in Blood Chemistry and Biological Terrain Testing, Homeopathy, Parasitology, Endocrinology, and Thermography were to follow. The study of Empircal Relationships between Odontomas (dental) and Organs/Diseases was yet another piece to the understanding and complexities of the human body. Dr. Kaufmann taught Introduction to Biological Medicine at the East/West College of Natural Medicine (Acupunture School in Sarasota, Florida) in 1996. Since then, he has taught numerous clinical presentations at various Alternative Medicine Conferences.
Dr. Chris teaches other healthcare professionals in their clinical settings and has become, as some say, an “expert in his field”. He has been the owner and director of the Abundant Health and Wellness Center along with his wife, Melissa, for 14 years in Sarasota, Florida.
In 2007, Dr. Kaufmann moved his family to Bayfield, Colorado, where he resides with Melissa and their four children. He continues to travel the world looking for the newest technologies to help his patients. Therefore, he will always strive to do the least harm and provide his patients with the most cutting edge healing modalities.
Dr.Chris has studied and practiced effective alternative methods in the treatment of Lyme's Disease, parasitology, endocrine imbalances, MS, and Hepatitis C, to name a few. Treating the person and not the disease, he likes to gather information, put it all together, and create an effective treatment plan. Dr. Chris Kaufmann can be reached at 970-764-8758. He is available for worldwide consulting and speaking engagements.
Dr. Kaufmann's other passions include surfing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, and his family.

Almost twenty years of practical experience has helped her to see just how the body is “fearfully and wonderfully made” ( www.gotquestions.org/fearfully-wonderfully-made.html) and when given the proper support, it can be brought back from a state of disease and dysfunction to health and balance.
Melissa’s love of bodywork and understanding of movement began as a teenager, as it helped improve her athletic performance in track-and-field and in triathlons. Her own health challenges following four pregnancies led her to KMI. “Other modalities were treating the symptoms, not the cause of my chronic pain and dysfunction”.
Melissa also realized her limitations as a practitioner when treating
clients with recurring pain patterns. Answers to her many questions came as
she studied the Anatomy Trains (www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myofascial_meridians) and the ideas of spatial medicine with Thomas Meyers and the staff of Kinesis, Inc. Her personal experience with KMI took her to a new level of understanding of her inner space and structure and how it affects her relationship to the world around her. “The sessions are brilliantly designed to give the practitioner and client the opportunity to explore new possibilities, release old patterns, and bring about change”.
For Melissa, Kinesis Myofacial Integration (KMI) has been life-changing both personally and professionally. She is passionate about helping others to feel more free and at ease within their own bodies, so they may experience a greater quality of physical, mental, and spiritual health.
Melissa has been a KMI practitioner since 2006. For more information, see www.anatomytrains.com/at/kmi/experience
